The placement of your will

An important detail in the will process, that many struggle with, is where to store your will once it is made. Although hiding a document may seem like an easy thing to do, it is a unique situation in which you have to consider all the factors. Once you have passed away, you will want it to be found by the right people in order to have it read. But until then, it should be kept hidden, forbidden access to everyone but yourself. This makes the situation slightly complicated, and although many people find a suitable location, you may need some help with making a decision.

Although making a will isn’t hard, storing it once it’s done is another story. The best way to protect your will, and have it in the right hands when the time comes, is to leave it with a solicitor. For a small fee, you can have your will kept safe, and read upon your death. Inform your family, and whom ever is included in the will, which solicitor holds your will. Once you’ve passed, and only then will it be read by the solicitor. It is important that your family know who holds the will.
